2017 - A Summary
Well, another year is up and we are well into January now with a very promising year ahead. With already a very busy month under us and lots of exciting jobs lined up, its looking to be a very exciting year. Here are some of the highlights from the previous year and a little bit about what's to come.
2017 Highlights
1. Start of 5th Year of Business
As any entrepreneur will know, running a business is full of many ups and downs. But the last 5 years I would not change for anything and what I have learnt about business and life, I feel I could not have got anywhere else. Not only has the business grown, the customer feedback continues to be great as the client list has grown dramatically in the last few years.
2. Launch of West Mercia App
One of our biggest projects of 2016 was working with West Mercia Police to create video stories that deal with issues that young people face. The app was called 'Choices' and what made it unique was that each story gave the user alternative outcomes based on the decisions they make. This app was finally launched last year and is now available on Apple and Android devices, with the launch party taking place in Worcester, Worcestershire. Storm Videos were really proud to be involved in the rewarding project.
3. Filming at Creamfields Festival
A personal dream of mine has always been to film at the dance music festival: Creamfields, probably since the age about 15, I imagined myself there on stage filming. This year that dream came a reality, thanks to Vantage Event Structures - a local company in Milton Keynes that recreated the iconic Nation nightclub from Cream, back in the day in Liverpool. Watch the highlights here and you also get an insight into how Vantage work, thank you!
4. Filming with B&Q
This year we have worked with some great clients, all are just as important as each other. But it was particularly cool to film for B&Q, this time at our local Milton Keynes store!
5. Anniversary Party
What better way to end the year than with a party? Thank you to all the businesses that have supported us. It was great to see so many turn up and enjoy the evening with us. We had a football table, beer pong, virtual reality games and a FIFA tournament, what more could you want? (Lots of drinks).
What's to come
This year, we wish to offer out a range of new services as our industry is always quickly changing. Over the coming weeks, we will announce more, but this will include: Storm Live, Same Day Edits, Long Form Timelapses, Video Marketing, Virtual Reality and lots of free hints of tips all about video, filming, videography and editing!
Thanks for all your support and here's to a great 2018,
Matt Worthington - Video Producer, Storm Videos
